If your flight is delayed or cancelled, do not expect to be wined and dined overnight in a 5 star hotel. The conditions of contract on the back of the ticket states that the airline will "use its best efforts" to carry the passenger and their baggage with "reasonable dispatch". Words like "best efforts" and "reasonable" are open to interpretation.
